Western Day (July 8)

Fridays are truly the most special time of the week at Camp Avraham Moshe. It's almost as if the Shabbos queen greets us early. Our first day of challah baking went so well and our chessed (kindness) project on friendship helped our community grow. Every week on Friday we'll be exploring an aspect of the theme of Veahavta Lireacha Kamocha: loving your friend like you love yourself, and doing good deeds for one another. This week's project was making friendship bracelets! We then enjoyed a pizza lunch -- a Friday tradition -- and we were so lucky to have a legend in the Jewish music world, Brad Schachter, lead us in an amazing Shabbos party!  We thank Brad so much for volunteering his time each summer to help bring Shabbos to life for everyone at camp. We also added some spice to the day by declaring it Western Day. Everyone dressed up in great outfits and made sure to say howdy to all. We closed the day with our famous Yasher Koach awards and everyone left with an award for an amazing first week of camp. Have a Good Shabbos / Shabbat Shalom!
