Dear Parents, Campers, Counselors, and Extended Etta Family,
Monday, July 11:
Our second week got off to an amazing start as everyone came dressed up in their Oscar-worthy tuxes and gowns for Hollywood Day! After spirited T'filot we celebrated our stardom by painting with renowned artist Sharon Levine and enjoying Groovy Hollywood Music with Rachel Seidel. During Groovy Music each camper performed a solo of their choice with an esteemed panel of judges, with the conclusion that every contestant was a winner! We also were so very lucky to have Elizabeth Solano, a true photographer for the stars, who took our glamour shots as well as a fantastic camp photo. We want to give a huge Todah Rabah (thank you) to Sharon Levine, Rachel Seidel, and Elizabeth Solano for donating their precious time to making our Hollywood Day such a success. Each camper also got a chance to strut their stuff on the glamorous red carpet with the entire camp was cheering them on... it really felt like we were celebrities! After lunch we cooled off with swimming as though we were in the Hollywood Hills and the day flew by once again. Thank you for another amazing experience, everyone! We'll see you tomorrow for Music Day.
(We'll share the Hollywood Day pics as soon as we get them back from Elizabeth! Can't wait!)
Tuesday, July 12:
Music Day got off to a musical start with T'fillot and an enthusiastic song session with great thanks to Michael Felsenthal for his rockin' guitar playing! We were so lucky to be joined by Jeff who led an incredible drum circle and a huge thank you to Nechama for running creative sports for our campers. One of the highlights of the day was celebrating Lara Patt's birthday and a huge thank you to Shirley Patt (Lara's mom) for bringing a delicious cake for everyone to enjoy! After the scrumptious dessert we enjoyed a great time in the pools and closed the day with our songs Thank You God and Rosa Rosa. Today was another amazing day at Camp Avraham Moshe and we cannot wait for Iranian Day tomorrow!
Wednesday, July 13:
Iranian Day was one to remember at Camp Avraham Moshe. The morning began with an amazing sports activity with Nehama and turned into an impromptu song session that was highlighted by Jacob Katz and Dr. Held leading us in our camp song. Iranian Day kicked off with an amazing Persian lunch thanks to the Iranian board members and Simon Catering. We owe a huge Todah Rabah to Mrs. Nehorai, Haleh, Kami, and the enitre Iranian board for their amazing generosity. After lunch we were blessed to have DJ Pedram (for the third straight summer!) who got everyone on the dance floor with his fantastic Iranian music. After our dance party came to an end we still somehow found time to take a dip in the pool which was so nice and refreshing! Stay tuned for the amazing surprise activity tomorrow!

From the archives: Last year one of the campers said about the Iranian lunch, "This is the best lunch we have had at camp all summer!"
Thursday, July 14:
Today was one of the greatest days we've had at Camp Avraham Moshe! We went to Rancho Park for an amazing Maccabia Color Wars experience! The blue team and the red team began the day with cheers in Hebrew and English and the judges were extremely impressed by the amount of Ruach (spirit) and energy exuded by campers and counselors alike. Color War events included "Over Under," "Water Balloon Toss," "Spoon and Tennis Ball" races, and much much more! We also had a special treat of Icees which happened to be blue and red! We are so exhausted from such a jam-packed day and can't wait for Shabbat tomorrow!
Friday, July 15:
This Friday we were honored to host Steve Berger, the head of Tomchai Shabbos, who helped us make a chessed project as part of our theme of Veahavta Lireacha Kamocha: loving your friend like you love yourself, and doing good deeds for one another. We decorated boxes for the Tomchai organization to use when they give out food to the needy for Shabbat. A huge thank you also to Debbie who did Parsha art projects with us, and told us stories all the while, and to Moshe who played amazing music for us to dance. We again enjoyed a pizza lunch and an amazing Shabbos party!
Have a Good Shabbos / Shabbat Shalom! Don't forget to check out the weekly videos of camp, too... here's the one from this week:
