Thank you for your interest in J-CHAI. 

J-CHAI is a program for young adults with special needs who want to live independently.  J-CHAI facilitates residents’ participation in a broad range of Jewish social and vocational activities available throughout the Pico/Robertson area.  It is a private pay program.


Are you a good candidate for J-CHAI?
•    Are you at least 18 years old?
•    Do you want to live in your own apartment with a roommate?
•    Do you know basic safety skills?
•    Do you have basic reading and writing skills?
•    Are you motivated to work or volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per week?
•    Are you able to follow a schedule?
•    Are you able to communicate your needs effectively?
•    Are you interested in making friends in your community?
J-CHAI is not appropriate for individuals with severe emotional, behavioral or psychiatric disorders, or those requiring a therapeutic environment.
