About one year after my son Avremel had moved into the group home, we were talking about his life there. With tears brimming, he said "Mommy, I have a good life, I love my group home."
Etta group homes are warm, loving family environments. Up to six residents and two full-time staff members reside in each home, eating, doing chores, and spending time together. All homes are on residential streets in thriving Jewish communities, within walking distance of synagogues. Bright and beautiful, each home is a wonderful place to live. Residents celebrate Shabbat and Jewish holidays together with their community, and are embraced by their neighbors and visitors. Caring professionals help residents develop their work, social, and independent living skills. The Etta Israel Center homes fulfill Mrs. Etta Israel's dream of providing supported living for Jewish adults with developmental disabilities (ages 18-59) and peace of mind for their families.
