ETTA’S Iranian-American Division Celebrates 20th Anniversary Gala Recognizing Manijeh Nehorai

Fashion Show by acclaimed Simin Couture presented by
ETTA clients and ETTA Young Professionals

BEVERLY HILLS, (October 25, 2017) — The Iranian-American Community Division of ETTA, the largest organization serving the housing and social services needs of adults with disabilities in the Los Angeles Jewish community, will hold its 20th annual gala on Wednesday, October 25 at The Beverly Wilshire at 7 pm.

Since its founding 20 years ago, ETTA’s Iranian-American Division has been providing programs and services to the Iranian Jewish community to enable people with disabilities and their families to live fully enriched and independent lives. The Division has created numerous innovative programs and services never before offered to the large Los Angeles Iranian Jewish community. It has changed mindsets, raised awareness and acceptance of adults with special needs within the Iranian-American community.

This special 20th anniversary gala will honor Mrs. Manijeh Nehorai, founder and director of the Iranian-American Division for her 22 years of service to ETTA and its clients. A true trailblazer in helping the Iranian community change perceptions of adults with special needs, Mrs. Nehorai continues her work at ETTA counseling clients and their families, arranging parent support groups, hosting meetings at private homes, among many other duties and activities. Her efforts reach hundreds of people each year.

“Recognizing Mrs. Nehorai is long overdue. We are thrilled the Iranian Division Board of Directors, along with the greater Iranian community, will have the opportunity to express their gratitude for all she has done, and continues to do,” said Dr. Michael Held, ETTA executive director. “Through her vast experience, professional training and dedication, she has changed the hearts and minds within the Iranian community and bettered the lives of the many Iranian clients and their families we serve.”

The event also includes dinner, dancing and a fashion show featuring designs by the acclaimed Simin Couture presented by ETTA clients and ETTA Young Professionals.
